Giving support to Mums & Dads with PANDA National

Happy Thursday!

So as some of you may be aware, we are proud supporters of PANDA. I'd like to give you a little more insight into our campaign for November, but before I do that, I'd like to also introduce you to PANDA, tell you a bit more about them, what they do, where to reach out to and how you can help. I'd like to thank you all for reading this far, but if you could spare a few more minutes, please continue reading. You never know, this info could really help someone - that you care about - out a lot.

For those of you who don't know, PANDA stands for Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia. They are an organisation that assists and supports both Women & Men who are having a difficult time with anxiety, depression and their overall mental health, pre-baby, post birth and even throughout parenthood.

They provide mental health checklists, regular hotline services, have supportive apps and just give you a friendly and supportive ear and shoulder when time get tough throughout parenthood.

I myself have needed to complete the mental health checklists quite a few times since my parenthood journey began in November 2018. Let me tell you first hand at how gentle and caring the PANDA professionals really are!

I remember feeling so embarrassed at crying down the phone to this lovely lady on the other end (I wish I could remember her name, but I was so distraught at that point I couldn't even tell you how long the conversation was for) telling her how hard it all felt. How I kept feeling the pressure of society weigh down on me and how I felt like "Everyone else will think and call me a bad mother." "That I'm doing things all wrong" "That I'm not giving my baby the best I chose to end my breastfeeding (exclusively expressing) journey at 6 months, even though I wished I could have continued - because my baby was suffering with reflux and regurgitation issues AND I had regular periods that reduced my milk supply, AND every 4 weeks it caused me to power pump express every 2 hours for a week straight to keep up supply, only to find my baby vomits it all back up, but never during the middle of cycle only on my period, and how my MCHN keeps telling me that I should of direct fed because he wouldn't have had theses issues, but I physically couldn't because I had a broken coccyx (tailbone) I couldn't position myself well enough to direct feed, and no-one showed me an easier way to direct feed with a broken coccyx..." It went on and on and on. And you know what, this beautiful lady, just sat and listened and agreed with me and told me that it's ok and she was here for me. She told me that parenthood is a tough but beautiful journey and it can be devastating at times when things don't go the way we intended and that's ok. She just got me. And I am very thankful for that support.

So for the month of November, we are running a campaign to give support back to the supporter, PANDA, in light of PANDA Week, that runs from November 10th 2019 - November 16th 2019.

We are donating $2 from the sale of every tee from November 1st 2019 - November 30th 2019 back to PANDA. We would greatly appreciate your support to help us give back to such a wonderful organisation who has helped us out personally. Your support and generosity can save lives and families affected by perinatal anxiety and depression. Over 100,000 families are affected every year in Australia. It works out to be 1 in 5 women (pre & post birth) and 1 in 10 men (pre & post birth) experience anxiety and/or depression as their family life changes.

So will you help us in our November Campaign for PANDA?

Much love,

Heather xx
